Mutiny! is not your typical MTV pop punk band in that the lyrics are hardly about hating girls or how much your ex-girlfriend ruined your life. Instead, it is about taking chances/self realizations ("Work In Progress, Dead Men Tell No Tales" and "Flight Of The Navigator"); commentary on the people's concept of selling out ("We Do It For The Money, OBVIOUSLY!"); liberation ("Mutiny!" and "Don't Let This Win Over You"); commentary on religion ("An Old Book Misread")… the lines

The Format will release yet another EP entitled The Format Live: Exporting Insecurity. It will include "Career Day", "She Doesnt Get It", "If Work Permits", "Time Bomb", "Dead End" and "Sore Thumb". It won’t be available for download till December 12, so in the meantime, let’s listen to their self-titled EP that started it all!
It is Sunday and most of us are recovering from the excessive dancing and drinking the night before; but in case you want to dance more or is throwing a dance party this coming friday, listen to the new Hot Chip disc, The Warning. The album is full of contrasting up tempo and dancy instrumentations with mellow and laidback vocals; in fact, the vocals even contrast each others: with one member singing in a higher range while the other in a low-key style. Hot Chip’s musical technique is closely similar to Junior Boys and it sometimes even reminds me of Thom Yorke.

PJ Harvey’s The Peel Sessions (1991-2004) is out now. Fans of hers will definitely enjoy this "best of/live" release... her voice is exceptional strong here!
