I don’t think I have blogged about Cocorosie since the disappointing cancellation of their North American tour about a year ago. But I have a feeling there will be more posting in the near future especially with a new record on the horizon! The sisters have recently released a new track entitled "God Has A Voice, She Speaks Through Me", and according to Cocorosie’s MySpace, the new album "will continue in the vein of God Has A Voice..., exploring spiritual dance music, driven by oceanic and apocalyptic themes."

So apparently, Cocorosie sadly had to cancel the rest of their North American tour because they were arrested. There is no detail explanation concerning the arrest or if they will re-schedule... I guess we just have to keep our fingers crossed and wait.

Woo… this came out today? I got this album about a year ago at The New Amsterdams show... holy crap... what the hell took so long for it to come out!!?!?!? Anyways, I absolutely adore If You Ever See An Owl... it’s like children’s music for grownups! "We Can All Get Along With Dinosaurs" is one of the best songs I’ve heard in years!!!

Cocorosie: The Adventures of Ghosthorse and Stillborn
While Noah's Ark was wonderful, it kind of lost its charm near the end. On the other hand, The Adventures of Ghosthorse and Stillborn is a solid record from start to finish!

Cocorosie will be touring... pretty much everywhere in the world for the next little while to support their third album entitled The Adventures of Ghosthorse and Stillborn, due out on April 10. Along with the hip-hop influenced sound, the new record tends to lean toward a more 90s-Portishead-trip-hop-style. In addition, songs like "Japan" and "Houses" feature Sierra’s impressive operatic voice! I love how Cocorosie always experiment with different sounds and vocal styles without making their songs overly abstract and pretentious.

antony has the ability to make me cry

Cocorosie's "Beautiful Boyz" is a gorgeously haunting song... and the guest vocal by Antony just makes it even more remarkable. Seriously, this song will make you cry!!! (I was walking to school yesterday under the shining sun and light breeze, "Beautiful Boys" came on my ipod… and soon after, tears started to fill my eyes.)
