It feels like -30 in Toronto right now and my half an hour walk to school is saved by Feist’s The Reminder, in particular her new single, "My Moon My Man" and "The Park". The transition between those songs is brilliant! There is this illusion of Feist actually 'walking' to the park and performing there as she finished My Moon My Man… it is genius!
The Reminder, Feist’s long awaited follow-up to Let It Die, is coming out on April 23 in Europe while the rest of the world will get it on May 1. She is also heading out for a mini-Canadian Tour during May and June, be should to check that out if you can.
Strange House by The Horrors–one of my most anticipated albums of this year, is coming out tomorrow in the UK. The Horrors’ debut full-length opens with "Jack The Ripper". A track that should be familiar to most Horrors fans… but wait! This "Jack The Ripper" is different!!!... it opens with a slower tempo... kind of psychedelic sound before crushing into chaos… I absolutely love this new version! Other non-EP highlights include "Count In Fives", "Draw Japan", the new single, "Gloves", and "Little Victories"... actually... the entire record is just brilliant and perfect! The North American release EP was my favorite EP of last year, and Strange House will most likely be on my year-end list, as it is already one of the best records I’ve heard this year!
