classic song of the moment

Wow... I haven’t posted a classic song of the moment in a while... about three months to be exact... anyways, Marcy Playground’s "Sex and Candy" came out during my junior high school years, either Grade 9 or 10, I don’t really remember. But one thing for sure, it was featured on every mixtape I made that year and I probably ruined my cassette player from rewinding back to that song countless times. "Sex and Candy" was a magehit, it was a number one hit on the U.S. Modern Rock Tracks chart for 15 long weeks, making it one of the best songs that came out during the late 90s!

I know that many ...And You Will Know Us By The Trail Of Dead fans were disappointed by their last record, Worlds Apart. Personally, I thought that album was a pretty good rock album, but then again, I am not familiar with their acclaimed 2002 release, Source Tags and Codes or any of their pervious works. On November 14, Trail of Dead is releasing their fifth studio full length, So Divided, which again, in my opinion, is another damn fine rock album. The one thing I love about Trail of Dead is their ability to blend alternative/hard rock styles with smooth melodic instrumentations and vocal. The result, So Divided is an album full of heavy hitting rock anthems and fantastic power ballads!

death cab - october 31, 2006 @ massey hall

The Death Cab concert was on Halloween night... I actually didn’t really care about the show because one: it’s Halloween and I wanted to go out; two: I didn’t want to hear hundreds of teenage girls singing along to "I Will Follow You Into the Dark"; three: I am not really a fan of new Death Cab (Plans) and I wanted them to play stuffs from We Have the Facts and We're Voting Yes; four: I think I have seen them enough times, and nothing will beat the first Death Cab show in Toronto about three or four years ago (it was a 19+ show and they played a cover of "All Is Full of Love").

To my surprise, the show was actually really great! It was at Massey Hall, which in my opinion, is of the best venues in Toronto. My seat was fifth row back and located right at the centre of the stage… so, it was great to start with. However, when Death Cab came on, Ben Gibbard was like "this is a rock concert, so everyone should stand up"... shortly after, a few people (including me) rushed to the front of the stage and I actually ended up right in front of the stage for the rest of the show. All in all, the teenage sing-along wasn’t too bad and they actually played a few tracks from Facts… I went crazy for "Company Calls". The highlight of the show had to be the encore; in fact, I think it was the best encore I have ever seen. The entire band came out dressed up as Devo and they played four classic Devo songs!!! That was just incredible!!! After, still in their Devo outfits, they play a handful of their own songs to end the show.

During the 2006 Europe Music Awards, Kanye West made a complete ass of himself when he realized that his video didn’t win... he crashed the stage during the winners' (Justice VS Simian) acceptance speech.

My video cost a million dollar to make… If I don’t win, the award show loses credibility...

What a crybaby!!!!!!!!!
