The Streets’ final album Computers and Blues came out yesterday. In celebration, an interactive film has been released also by the same title—Computers and Blues—this is pretty cool... very much like a choose your own adventure book, but in video format. Begin your journey below!

The Streets released a mixtape entitled Cyberspace and Reds yesterday. The 13-track mixtape is free; however, you have to get the Mike Scanner app from the Apple app store, have an iPhone and a can of Heinz Beans... go here for more details.

For those without an iphone (like me), the mixtape is quite easy to find via simple Google search.

Cyberspace and Reds is a great precursor to what could be The Streets' final album, Computer and Blues (out on February 7!) It features some of those brilliant tracks from The Streets’ YouTube Channel such as "Backseat Barz", "Cinema Barz", and "Breakbat Barz". I am really loving this mixtape at the moment, I hope Computer and Blues can live up to it!

If you haven’t seen it already, you MUST check out this incredible short film that follows Danny MacAskill riding from Edinburgh back to his hometown of Dunvegan in the Isle of Skye. The two songs used in the video are "Wax and Wire" by Loch Lomond and "A Little Piece" by The Jezabels.

the streets: everything is borrowed

If you are familiar with The Streets’ first three albums, you know that Mike Skinner is never shy at voicing his ideologies. Thankfully, that has not changed in his latest album; Everything Is Borrowed is Skinner's most philosophical album yet. While much of Original Pirate Material expressed Skinner’s dislikes and doubts for society, Everything Is Borrowed sees him parading his joys and hopes for life; it has this much-needed positive vibe.

The album opens with an uplifter as Skinner sings about living life to the fullest in the titled track: "I came to this world with nothing / and I leave with nothing but love / everything else is just borrowed." In Heaven For The Weather, he tells us to forget all the primitive concepts of heaven and hell and just be ourselves. He advises us to try new things and live life spontaneously in "On The Flip Of A Coin". Finally, "The Escapist" is a peaceful meditation for the hectic, chaotic, and confusing world we are in; it is one of the most beautiful songs of the year! Mike Skinner has developed from a musician to a true poet! Everything Is Borrowed marks The Streets' second last album and it might be his best. However, it makes me sad that there will only be one more album after this.
